A PLACE OF BELONGING FOR STUDENTS
Wednesday Night Youth Group

Sept.-May | 6:30-8:00pm | Doors open at 6:00pm

This period presents an exceptional opportunity for students not only to connect with peers but also to engage in activities that enrich their social and spiritual lives. During the evenings, the program is structured to include large group sessions where dynamic teaching takes place, providing insights into various life and faith-related topics. These sessions are designed to be both informative and inspirational, setting the stage for deeper exploration.

Following the large group teachings, students break into smaller groups for discussions. These intimate settings allow for a more personal interaction, where students can freely share their thoughts, doubts, and experiences. This format encourages a deeper understanding and internalization of the lessons through peer-to-peer learning and mentorship.

Over the course of three years, the curriculum is carefully crafted to cover essential themes that resonate with the challenges and questions faced by students at this stage of life:

  • Surviving Middle School: Here, students learn strategies to navigate the complexities of middle school life, including peer pressure, identity formation, and academic stress. The focus is on building resilience and a positive self-image grounded in their faith.
  • Healthy Relationships: This segment explores the dynamics of relationships with family, friends, and eventually romantic interests. It emphasizes respect, boundaries, communication, and the Christian perspective on love and friendship, preparing students for emotionally healthy interactions.
  • Christian Disciplines: Students are introduced to practices like prayer, Bible study, meditation, and service. This module aims to instill habits that foster spiritual growth, personal discipline, and a closer relationship with God, equipping them with tools to maintain their faith through life’s ups and downs.

This extended program not only aims to educate but also to transform, providing a holistic approach to personal development where fun, learning, and spiritual growth go hand in hand, creating a supportive community that lasts beyond the program itself.

Middle School Sunday Bible Classes: Journey Through The Story

Sundays, 9:00am | Sparks Room (Lower level)

Every Sunday morning, middle school students are invited to deepen their spiritual journey by delving into the heart of Christianity. Our class, “Growing Closer to Christ,” is designed as a sanctuary where young minds can explore the vast narratives of the Bible through “The Story” curriculum. This isn’t just a class; it’s a journey through God’s story, from the whispers of creation to the echoes of revelation. Here we’ll:

  • Unpack the Bible: Together, we’ll navigate through the overarching narrative of the Bible, understanding how each book, chapter, and verse weaves into the grand tapestry of God’s love story with humanity.
  • Engage in Thoughtful Discussions: Each session encourages students to ask questions, share insights, and engage with the scriptures in a way that relates to their everyday lives, fostering a deeper connection with their faith.
  • Pray Together: Prayer is our conversation with God. We’ll learn how to pray, why we pray, and experience the power of communal prayer, creating a supportive community bound by faith.
  • Build Friendships: Beyond learning, this class is a place to form lasting friendships with peers who are on the same quest for spiritual growth, making Sunday mornings a highlight of the week.

Events & Outreach

We offer various events and outreach projects throughout the year. Activities include Fall Fling, MS Winter Retreat, District Blitz, and Project Impact. These are awesome opportunities for students to connect with their peers and grow deeper in their faith.
