A PLACE OF BELONGING FOR STUDENTS
Wednesday Night Youth Group

Sept.–May | 6:30-8:00pm | Doors open at 6:00pm

Each week, students from various grades come together in the Youth Center for an engaging and thought-provoking experience tailored to their spiritual growth. Each grade level will deepen their faith through sessions that are both dynamic and relevant to their lives.

Schedule Overview:

  • Grade Group Teaching: Initially, all students start with their grade in a specified room. Here, they receive teaching that is designed to solid themes of faith, personal development, and societal interaction. This session sets the tone, providing a shared foundation of knowledge and inspiration.
  • Small Group Discussions: Post the collective teaching, students then split into smaller, grade-specific groups. This segmentation allows for more personalized discussions, where the topics introduced during the large group session can be explored in greater detail. These discussions are facilitated by leaders who encourage open dialogue, ensuring that each student can voice their thoughts, doubts, and insights in a supportive environment.

Core Subjects Covered:

  • Purity: This topic explores the concept of living a life of integrity and moral cleanliness in today’s world. Discussions often include the pressures faced by youth, strategies for maintaining personal values, and the broader implications of purity in one’s spiritual life.
  • Personality and Spiritual Gifts: Here, students learn about different personality types and how these relate to spiritual gifts. The aim is to help each student understand their unique traits and how they can use their innate abilities for service in their community and beyond, fostering a sense of purpose and belonging.
  • Evangelism: Students are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to share their faith. This segment covers the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of evangelism, emphasizing respectful and effective communication of one’s beliefs in diverse settings.
  • Apologetics: This subject arms students with the intellectual tools to defend their faith. Topics range from the historical reliability of scriptures, philosophical arguments for the existence of God, to addressing contemporary criticisms of religion, preparing students to engage with a skeptical world.
  • Relationships: Delving into the complexities of human connections, this module covers friendships, family dynamics, romantic relationships, and one’s relationship with oneself and God. It teaches healthy boundaries, the importance of empathy, and how relationships can reflect one’s spiritual health.

This weekly gathering not only strengthens the students’ faith but also builds a community where young individuals can grow together, challenge each other, and support one another in their spiritual journeys. The blend of teaching and discussion ensures that learning is both an individual and collective experience, fostering a youth community that’s both knowledgeable and compassionate.

Sunday Morning Study

Sundays, 9:00am | Room 236

Step into Room 236 at 9:00 AM every Sunday for an immersive study experience tailored for high school students eager to understand the roots and spread of their faith. In this class, we focus on:

  •  The Dawn of the Church: Dive deep into the Acts of the Apostles and beyond, exploring how a small group of believers turned into a global faith movement. We’ll study the challenges, triumphs, and the unstoppable spread of the Gospel.
  • Interactive Study Sessions: Our approach combines scripture reading with interactive discussions, allowing students to dissect historical contexts, understand theological implications, and see how these ancient texts apply to modern life.
  • Prayer and Reflection: Each class includes time for prayer, reflecting on what we’ve learned, and how we can embody the early church’s spirit in today’s world. This is a time for personal growth and communal support.
  • Leadership and Service: Inspired by the early church leaders, we encourage students to find their role in today’s church. Through discussions and projects, students will explore ways to serve within the church and the broader community.

Events & Missions

Students can participate in various events, conferences, and mission trips throughout their high school years. Activities include Fall Fling, District Blitz, Valleyfair, Challenge Conference, and mission trips. These are awesome opportunities for students to connect with their peers and grow deeper in their faith.
