The One From God

Luke 2:1-20

In the new sermon series “Jesus, the Reason for the Season,” we explore five distinct portraits of Jesus from the Gospel of Luke, delving into why Jesus is central to our Christmas celebrations. This series not only highlights the historical reality of Jesus’ entrance into human history but also emphasizes His divine nature as the Logos, God made flesh, who came to reveal Himself to a world burdened by sin. Through the narratives of Luke and John, we understand the profound truth of God’s incarnation and His self-revelation in human form. The shepherds’ encounter with the angel, who announces the birth of a Savior, leads them—and us—to respond with joy and praise, sharing the good news of salvation. This Christmas, we are reminded that the greatest gift is that God has provided a Savior to redeem us from our sins, a truth that underpins all our celebrations.
